Hubei Province is the provincial administrative region of the people’s Republic of China and the provincial capital Wuhan. It is located in Central China, bordering Anhui in the East, Chongqing in the west, Shaanxi in the northwest, Jiangxi and Hunan in the South, and Henan in the north.

It is between 29 ° 01 ′ 53 ″ – 33 ° 6 ′ 47 ″ north latitude and 108 ° 21 ′ 42 ″ – 116 ° 07 ′ 50 ″ east longitude. The terrain of Hubei Province is roughly surrounded by mountains in the East, West, and North, with a low and flat middle, slightly showing an incomplete basin open to the south. In the total area of the province, mountains account for 56%, hills 24%, and plain lakes 20%, belonging to the Yangtze River system.
Hubei Province is located in the subtropical zone. Most areas of the province belong to the subtropical monsoon humid climate, except that the alpine areas belong to the alpine climate.
