So, we’ve all been waiting forever since The Mandalorian Season 2 ended in 2020 (thank goodness for all those other Star Wars shows to keep us entertained), but guess what? The Mandalorian Season 3 is finally almost here!
Mando and our favorite little green buddy, Grogu, are coming back on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, and we’re all freaking out. Here’s everything you need to know before we dive back into their next adventure.
What is The Mandalorian about?
Alright, so The Mandalorian takes place five years after The Return of the Jedi and follows a dude named Din Djarin (aka Mando, played by Pedro Pascal) who’s a bounty hunter. He gets sent to nab this little cutie called “The Child” (aka Baby Yoda, who we all love), but instead of handing him over to the bad guy, Moff Gideon, Mando decides to protect him and find the Jedi to take care of him.
Along the way, he meets Ashoka Tano and a bunch of other cool Star Wars characters, gets his hands on the Darksaber, and ends up owing it to Bo-Katan. In Season 3, Mando and Baby Yoda head to Mandalore so he can make things right for what went down before.
Why is The Mandalorian not available in China?
It’s because you can only watch The Mandalorian on Disney Plus and Season 3 drops on March 1, 2023. But here’s the deal: Disney Plus isn’t available everywhere yet, including China, which is kinda frustrated.
If you’re in China, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered. All you need is a virtual private network (VPN) to trick Disney Plus into thinking you’re in a country where the service is available. We recommend using ExpressVPN ’cause it’s pretty reliable, and we’ll show you how to get set up in this guide.
How to watch The Mandalorian in China?
No matter where you’re at in the world, you can use a VPN to get on Disney Plus and watch The Mandalorian. All you gotta do is follow these steps using ExpressVPN, which is the best one for streaming.
Step 1: Sign Up for a VPN Service head over to ExpressVPN’s website and sign up for one of their plans. The annual one is the cheapest, plus it comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, so that’s pretty sweet.
Step 2: Now, you gotta install the VPN app on your device and sign in.
Step 3: Once you’re all set up, find a server in a place where Disney Plus is available – like the U.S. – and connect to it. If it doesn’t connect right away, just click the “on” button.
Step 4: Then, log in to your Disney Plus account (or sign up if you don’t have one yet) and look for The Mandalorian to start streaming. Easy as that!

If you’re a regular around here, you probably know that ExpressVPN is the top pick for streaming anything from Netflix to Apple TV to Disney Plus. They’ve got servers in a whopping 94 countries, so you can access content from all over (although not from the actual outer reaches of the galaxy, unfortunately). And their speeds are super fast, so you can watch in the best quality.
It’s really easy to use, whether you’re on an Android, smart TV, or any other kind of device. Plus, it’s important to stay secure online, and ExpressVPN has your back on that front.
Now, when it comes to price, it’s not the cheapest option out there. Their monthly plan is on par with other VPNs, but the annual one is a bit pricey compared to some others. But hey, you get what you pay for, and if you want to give it a go, they’ve got a 30-day money-back guarantee. For all the deets, check out our review of ExpressVPN.
Who is in The Mandalorian cast?
Pedro Pascal is on fire this year with the mega-popular show The Last of Us, and now he’s back as Mando. At the Star Wars Celebration panel, Katee Sackhoff spilled the beans that Bo-Katan Kryze will return and there’s some “unfinished business” between her and Mando. Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon is also coming back, and his role will be even bigger. Carl Weathers is returning as Greef Karga, and there’s a chance we’ll see Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano, who’s getting her own show. And of course, Baby Yoda will be back too.
With each new season, The Mandalorian adds more characters and more Star Wars veterans, including a possible appearance by Anakin Skywalker. In the trailer for season 3, there’s a flashback to the night when Anakin killed a bunch of Jedi in the infamous Order 66.

FAQ: About The Mandalorian season 3
Sorry, you can’t try out Disney+ for free anymore, which means you can’t watch The Mandalorian without subscribing at the moment. The good news is that you can get a Disney+ subscription starting at around $8 a month, or you can go for the bundle with Hulu and ESPN+ for about $14 a month.
If you’re having trouble accessing Disney+ in your area, just grab a VPN app, which will give you an IP address from the country of your choice so you can easily watch The Mandalorian.
Unfortunately, The Mandalorian isn’t on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.
If you’re looking to save some cash, you can try using a VPN to switch to a location where Disney+ subscriptions are cheaper. But don’t forget, you’ll need a payment method from that country to sign up.
For instance, in the US, you’ll pay around $8 each month for Disney+. Meanwhile, it’s roughly €9 in the UK and about $12 in Australia. Personally, I’ve found that a US Disney+ account is the cheapest option, but the price difference isn’t all that huge anyway.
